The orchestra are really excited to be starting a project this Autumn with turntablist Philip Jeck. He’s a legend in his field and truly original. He’s played wth many musicians/composers such as, Jah Wobble, Steve Lacy, Gavin Bryars, Jaki Liebezeit, David Sylvian, Sidsel Endresen and Bernhard Lang. The mix of his evocative other worldly music and the acoustic instruments of the orchestra we think will be an awesome mix. He’s going to write something especially for us and the mixture of electronics and acoustic instruments will be a first for us. We’ll be playing a couple of concerts this Autumn and some more next year, details to follow. Watch this space for updates.

I’ve very luckily been invited to play with The London Improvisors Orchestra. It’s at Ikletic in London near Waterloo, a lovely space to play in. The orchestra is full of amazing players, Steve Beresford, Marcio Matos, Alan Wilkinson, to name just a few.  Come and see it if you can.
